We are an Architectural and Interior Design practice based in Lisbon, Portugal, founded in 2019 by partners Milla Machado and Steven Evans. 

 

Our combined professional experience spans over two decades. The projects we have carried out as authors, co-authors and team members include single residences and apartment buildings, retail premises, educational establishments and hospitality enterprises in Portugal, Spain and Brazil.

 

We take pleasure in collaborative relationships with clients and aim to create atmospheres that are memorable and buildings that will endure.

MILLA MACHADO

 

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1984.

Holds Degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Armando Álvares Penteado University and in Journalism from the Anhembi Morumbi University, both in São Paulo.

Worked with Arch. Kiko Salomão and between 2016 and 2018 in the Architecture and Interior Design Departments of the Bernardes Arquitetura firm, collaborating on residential protects in São Paulo and the Hotel Fasano in Angra dos Reis, Brazil.

Supervised the Interior Design Department at Bernardes Arquitetura in Lisbon from its inauguration in 2018 until 2020.

In 2019 she founded Machado Evans Arquitetos with Steven Evans.

 

STEVEN EVANS

 

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1974.

Degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon in 1998, having also studied at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia.

In 1993 he collaborated with the German artist Ernst Volland on a proposal which was selected for the final round of judging in a Government competition for the construction, in Berlin, of a Monument to the Jews murdered in the Holocaust (“Denkmal für der ermordeten Juden Europas”).

Opened his own architecture studio in 1999 and directed with Miguel Abecassis the MASEA studio between 2008 and 2015.

In 2009 he collaborated with Arch. José Neves on the Executive Design for the expansion and refurbishment of the Francisco de Arruda Secondary School in Lisbon and in 2012 with Ana Costa Design in the implementation of a fit out project for a large-scale office building in São Paulo. He was also Project Coordinator at the Bernardes Arquitetura Office between 2013 and 2019, and was responsible for projects and supervised the construction work on residential projects in São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul and the Hotel Fasano in Angra dos Reis, Brazil. 

In 2019 he founded Machado Evans Arquitetos with Milla Machado.
